Who is the East Renfrewshire Launch for?

Anyone who is currently unemployed or seeking a new job or change in career and would like to work towards setting up their own business within East Renfrewshire.

What is the East Renfrewshire Launch programme?

The East Renfrewshire Launch programme aims to launch and support new businesses in East Renfrewshire over an 18-month period while ensuring their long-term sustainability.

The programme consists of:

• a Business Academy course of content covering key topics to setting up a new business (see key dates and topics below)
• access to startup and growth grants up to £500 available
• 18 months of 1:1 business mentoring and expert support

Course content includes:

• Business Planning: Cover the essentials of business plan development, including market research, competitive analysis, financial projections, and marketing strategies.
• Financial Management: Learn how to create and manage budgets, understand cash flow, and access funding sources like grants, loans, and crowdfunding.
• Marketing and Branding: Create your new brand, learn how to create effective marketing campaigns, and utilise digital marketing tools and social media.
• Sales and Customer Relations: Learn strategies for lead generation, sales techniques, and maintaining strong customer relationships.
• Innovation and Technology Integration: Explore innovation in business, the adoption of technology, and how to stay competitive in a digital age.
• Sustainability and Social Responsibility: Learn sustainable business practices and social responsibility, which are increasingly important to consumers and investors.

When does East Renfrewshire Launch start?

There is no specific start date meaning you can apply to join the programme at anytime. However the next block of workshops will run from April - June (see below). All training is delivered by business experts in-person at The Greenlaw Works, Newton Mearns. Please note that the same workshop will be delivered on each of these dates so choose the date that suits you best. You're more than welcome to come along to the same workshop twice if you'd like a refresher on the content.
