7th January 2020

About the business

Based in Fife, Scotland. MidgieBite Media produces HD and 4K digital video content for a diverse range of clients and promotes video as an extremely effective tool for brand development, digital marketing, event coverage, expressing creativity and communication.

When you are setting up your own business, you start with a lot of knowledge in your particular field. However, it can be a real challenge to get up to speed with all the logistics involved. In this respect, Business Gateway has been an invaluable resource and support, with a range of services that have real, applicable value for anyone hoping to start their own business.

How Business Gateway has helped

After establishing MidgieBite Media in 2017, Gavin initially received advice from Business Gateway about potential funding opportunities, including a successful loan application to the Prince’s Trust for over £4000 which covered the initial costs associated with setting up a business.

As the business has grown, MidgieBite Media has continued to receive Business Gateway help across a number of areas, including financial projections and forecasting, advice to support the expansion of the team in 2020 and website development, social media and SEO and analytics consultancy via DigitalBoost, Scotland’s national digital business skills training programme.

Gavin recently raised money for the Scottish Association for Mental Health (SAMH) with the release of a short film that explores the challenges of coping with depression at Christmas. ‘Cold’, which premiered in Kirkcaldy on Friday 13 December.
