Business makeover for Inverclyde beauty salon

Infinity Beauty's owners weren't sure where to start when looking to open their own business, so they turned to Business Gateway.

About the business

Three Greenock-based mums, fed up with life in a call centre, took matters into their own hands and took a leap of faith to retrain and open their own beauty salon.

Charlene, Liz and Ashleigh opened the doors to Infinity Beauty in November 2018 and business is booming. The co-founders commented: “We have had an overwhelming response since opening our business. Both existing and new clients, word of mouth and our location have played a major part in this.”

Without Business Gateway I’m not sure how we would have got along with the financial side of the business.

How Business Gateway has helped

Charlene, Liz and Ashleigh have received a huge amount of support from Business Gateway. As well as one-to-one support, they have attended multiple fully-funded workshops to increase their knowledge and network with other business owners.

They said: “We approached Business Gateway because we knew nothing at all about opening a business, where to start or what we needed to have in place. Everything we learnt from our first meeting has been helpful. The workshop about tax was a compete eye-opener and put our minds at rest.”

What’s next?

What advice would they give to other people who want to start a business? “Just go for it and take all of the help you’re offered. It has given us a huge amount of confidence. So much so that we are now expanding into a spa and have opened a few Infinity Beauty rooms at the Cloch Caravan Park’s new leisure facility. This time last year we didn’t think we would have one business, never mind two.”
