What to expect from this event
You may be surprised by the wide range of ways The City of Edinburgh Council supports local businesses to start, grow and succeed. Our Meet the Council event makes it easy to speak directly with council teams about practical business topics, including:
- Business rates and non-domestic rates
- Finding premises and accessing business funding
- Licensing and planning requirements
- Apprenticeships and recruitment support
- Selling your services to the Council and other public sector organisations
You’ll also be able to connect with partner organisations offering guidance on trusted trader schemes, social enterprise support, sustainability, finance and wider business services.
Join us in person at the Assembly Rooms on 3 February for this informal, drop-in event. It’s a great opportunity to ask questions, share your views, and better understand how the Council and its partners work with businesses to support Edinburgh’s economy.
Council teams attending include: Business Gateway, Licensing, Planning, Procurement, Trading Standards, Environmental Health, Non-Domestic Rates, Commercial Property, Fair Work, Cultural Partnerships, Events and Film, Building Standards and Climate.
Partner organisations include: Edinburgh Chamber of Commerce, Federation of Small Businesses, Scottish Enterprise, Edinburgh Social Enterprise Network, Zero Waste Scotland, Supplier Development Programme and Capital City Partnership.
