Investment Awareness Session plus Networking Lunch

Financing for business growth and start-up from both sides of the coin

What to expect from this event

Looking at alternative ways to finance your next business idea or the next stage of your growth? If you find that traditional funding options, such as grants and loans, are limited, it may be time to consider bringing in a private investor.

Business Gateway Orkney is excited to present a new event designed specifically to help you understand what investment entails for your business and, most importantly, how to prepare yourself to be investment-ready.

Our speaker, John Straw, is a seasoned entrepreneur with two successful exits under his belt and has been running his own investment fund for the past eight years, he brings a wealth of experience from both sides of the investment coin – both as fundee and funder. John previously served as Chief Digital Officer for Thomas Cook and has authored a book discussing the impact of technology on economic strategy.

During this session, he will also delve into AI developments and their potential impact on SMEs and investment prospects in the coming years.

Following the workshop, we invite you to join us for a casual networking lunch where you can connect with fellow entrepreneurs. Additionally, there will be opportunities for one-to-one sessions with our business advisors.

Don't miss this chance to gain essential knowledge and make valuable connections that could propel your business forward.
