Dr Yekemi started her career in Oil and Gas, holding engineering and business degrees, she is also a published author.
Today, Yekemi is an award-winning entrepreneur and co-founder of two businesses - Doqaru and Yo Couture. She is an avid supporter of women in business and is a mentor for businesswomen in the world’s poorest countries.

In September 2021, Yekemi was appointed Chancellor at the University of the West of Scotland (UWS) and was awarded an honorary doctorate for her contributions and commitment to higher education in June 2022.
