What to expect from this event
This workshop will be delivered over 2 'same day' sessions with a lunch break in between. In order to get the most out of this workshop, attendees must bring along a laptop - we’re going to be getting hands on!
What to expect from this event:
Morning:
We'll begin this session with brief outline of some of the basic components of a business website.
What pages do you need to create, what messages do you want to tell, what the purpose of your website actually is? You'll learn how to create a WordPress account, choose a theme (a design), create some basic webpages, and be introduced to Blogging!
Afternoon:
Following on from the morning session, we’ll jump a little deeper into how you can customise your new website and integrate it into your brand by adding text and images.
Getting your new website noticed is our ultimate goal so we'll spend some time highlighting the importance of SEO - Search Engine Optimisation. We’ll show you how to ensure your own content is optimised, while flagging up the features of WordPress that can really help get you noticed on Google. Finally we'll look at taking things further - with the addition of WordPress plugins and widgets! We'll show you how to add eCommerce functionality, and integrate your social.
*Please note: Participants must bring along a laptop. This is a hands-on, practical course so some basic computer skills are essential
