From Time Capsule Productions to Life in Fife, Entrepreneur expands storytelling venture
Lewis Harrower has expanded his storytelling business, Time Capsule Productions, with the launch of Life in Fife, a podcast celebrating the people, organisations and communities across the Kingdom.
Founded in April 2023, Time Capsule Productions initially focused on recording people's life stories as audio documentaries for future generations. The business has since diversified into audio and video guestbooks for weddings and events, as well as podcast production services for businesses.
Lewis credits Business Gateway Fife with helping him establish and grow the business.
He said, “Marissa at Business Gateway Fife was such a huge help in helping me set up the business and help me learn how to do all the admin side of things too. The most recent development felt like a natural next step for me in producing my own podcast where I would record the stories of the people of Fife and share them with the world, that’s Life in Fife.”
The idea for Life in Fife was first pitched at the Create in Kirkcaldy Creative Soup event, a Dragon’s Den-style micro funding pitch, where it won the People’s Choice Award. Following the success of the pitch, Lewis launched a crowdfunding campaign, which recently reached its £5,000 target with support from Creative Scotland and The National Lottery’s match-funding programme.
The funding will allow him to create a website hosting an archive of interviews and information about local people, businesses, charities and community groups.
Marissa Yassen-Fleming, Business Adviser at Business Gateway Fife, said, “Lewis has come a long way from when we were able to secure him a Start-Up grant for his initial business, Time Capsule Productions, along with a few days Expert Help under Specialist Business Support. He has shown such commitment and determination to create a wonderful, unique business model and I don’t think we could have picked a better winner for Create Soup, especially as he has successfully reached his £5,000 crowdfunder target.”
Lewis added, “Marissa has been a huge help from the beginning. Telling me what webinars would be useful, organising one-to-one support, discussing funding options and talking through my plans and helping me see another angle.”
