Essential information

12:00 - 14:30 Westerton Of Pitarrow
Laurencekirk
AB30 1RT

Ever wondered what it actually takes to grow a farm into a full-blown rural business?

Fiona Gammie will show you. She farms 450 acres at Westerton of Pitarrow with her dad and their team. And over the years she’s built a farm café, a campsite, an events barn and a pumpkin patch.

Join us for an honest look at how she grew it sustainably while diversifying into agritourism and building something people travel for.

You’ll hear about the decisions, the risks — and what she'd do differently. Then you'll get a tour of the farm, followed by lunch made with produce grown right there.

There'll be time to chat with Fiona and the other founders in the room too —over food, not just coffee and biscuits!

Whichever stage you're at (a gem of an idea, a growing business or somewhere in between), this event is here to help you take the next step.

Part of Building Female Founders, Business Gateway's programme supporting women across Aberdeen City and Aberdeenshire.

Please note: This event includes a farm tour, so please come prepared with suitable footwear and weather-appropriate clothing. Refreshments will be provided and dietary requirements can be catered for; however, due to the size of the kitchen, the premises cannot be guaranteed allergen-free. Please also be aware that open nuts are present in the farm shop.

If transport or public transport access is a barrier to attending, please contact aberdeen@bgateway.com and we'll be happy to discuss how we can help.
