About the business

Shetland Jewellery designs and manufactures Celtic and Nordic jewellery inspired by the landscapes, skyscapes, wildlife, history, and heritage of Shetland.

Business Gateway has been a massive help since I took over the business and has really helped me grow. Even though I’d worked at Shetland Jewellery for 20 years, taking over the business was really daunting, and I was worried I could be quite lonely.

How Business Gateway has helped

Having worked at the business since 2003, Sophie took over Shetland Jewellery in September this year. She made use of Business Gateway’s support almost immediately, developing a revised business plan to help her plan for the future.

Through the support service, she was also able to revamp Shetland Jewellery’s website, to improve its functionality, which has led to online sales doubling for the business.

The business has also recently ventured in TikTok to widen its reach and expand its customer base, with Business Gateway on hand to support with a social media strategy.
