About the business
Blasta Pasta is a culinary venture based in Geocrab. Founded by chef Jack Arundell and architect turned hospitality professional, Eilidh Izat, the business began as a seasonal pop-up bistro in the Bays of Harris Community Centre last summer.
Business Gateway’s assistance has been invaluable in turning our vision into reality. The funding allowed us to equip our kitchen to a professional standard, enabling us to deliver high-quality dishes to our customers.
How Business Gateway has helped
Business Gateway has been helpful in Blasta Pasta’s development. Eilidh and Jack benefitted from one-to-one support from a dedicated business adviser, Catherine Macdonald, who provided advice on their business plan and routes to funding.
Eilidh and Jack were also awarded grant support through the Outer Hebrides Young Enterprise Support Scheme, which is funded by Highlands and Islands Enterprise and delivered by the Comhairle’s Business Gateway team. This support has helped Eilidh and Jack with the costs of new equipment for the kitchen.
Eilidh Izat, co-owner, Blasta Pasta, said: “Business Gateway’s assistance has been invaluable in turning our vision into reality. The funding allowed us to equip our kitchen to a professional standard, enabling us to deliver high-quality dishes to our customers.
“We have been operating lots of events throughout the winter period but are looking forward to re-opening the doors to our bistro this summer.”
