Meet the Team

Business Gateway East Renfrewshire services are an integral part of East Renfrewshire Council's support to local business. The Business Gateway team work very closely with the Council's in-house economic development, business support and employability teams to ensure that local businesses and individuals looking to start up, establish and grow their business receive the best possible support. East Renfrewshire Council offers a wide range of support to help local businesses develop and grow.

Colin McNally
Business Gateway Adviser
Colin has been working with Business Gateway since 2011, supporting East Renfrewshire as a start up and growth adviser for most of that time. Colin manages Business Gateway East Renfrewshire and supports the wider Economic Development and Environmental Strategies including People, Place and Business.
Linzi Murphy
Business Gateway Adviser
Linzi is currently studying the Help to Grow programme as well as completing her Digital Marketing qualification. She has gained her Premier Adviser qualification and refreshed her social media skills through training courses and is now responsible for managing our operations alongside administering expert help for clients. Using her digital marketing and social media background and skill sets, Linzi has now helped several local businesses to start up and produce campaigns. Linzi is very organized and keeps the service well-managed!
Tony Tierney
Business Gateway Adviser
Tony has been a Business Gateway adviser for almost 3 decades, working with many start up and growth companies, and delivering a wide variety of training courses. Tony has gained Scottish Enterprise Premier Adviser qualification. Tony is also a professional landlord and has a Master’s Degree in Entrepreneurship/Entrepreneurial Studies.
Scott Arnot
Business Gateway Adviser
Scott is a highly experienced Business Adviser with Business Gateway East Renfrewshire, bringing over two decades of entrepreneurial and industry expertise. As the co-founder and operator of an award-winning hospitality company that grew to 10 venues and employed 200 staff, Scott has firsthand knowledge of business growth, leadership, and management. He holds a degree in Technology and Business Studies and has a diverse career background, having worked across sectors such as Aerospace, Food Manufacturing, and Commercial Property. Scott leads key Business Gateway projects like Launch and ERA, supporting businesses through tailored guidance and growth strategies.
Denise McKeever
Business Gateway Adviser
Denise is a Business Adviser with Business Gateway East Renfrewshire and brings over three decades of business expertise. As the founder and operator of her own Textile & Design business for two decades she brings a creative insight to business and the challenges of entrepreneurship. With over a decade experience in mentoring Young Start-up’s to CEO’s she has a passion for supporting new business start-ups and helping them achieve their goals.
Charlotte Caldow
Business Gateway Adviser
Charlotte has over two decades of experience in a varied number of roles, sectors and industries, allowing her to be able to deliver comprehensive business support. Having graduated in law over 10 years ago, and with a natural flair for sales and business, she has had roles in self-employment, policy, procurement, change management and transformation strategy - gaining the right mix of legal, sales, business development and management, to be able to understand and support all aspects of growing a business. Her passion lies in the ethical policies and values inherent within a business that are necessary for its compliance and growth, particularly ESG, data privacy and AI policies, and she loves to help people to reach their goals.
