About the Business

Grasshopper Toys is one of the largest independent children’s toy shops in the UK. Based in Helensburgh, Scotland, the business sells unique products that encourage creative and educational play. As a scientist with a passion for science toys, Dr Wendy Hamilton launched Grasshopper Toys after extensive research and testing toys in the market. Wendy also owns Curious Minds, an online shop for children’s science, space, technology and nature toys and gifts.

Founded in 2010, Grasshopper Toys fell victim to a devastating arson attack in 2013. The business re-opened in early 2014, however, and has continued to expand ever since.
