Transcend Escape Rooms has secured major partnerships after working with Business Gateway.

About the business

Founded by 21-year-old Craig MacDonald, Wee Heroes Laser Tag and Transcend Escape Rooms have become well known in the local area for having an excellent leisure offering. Both use state-of-the-art technology and equipment, bringing a unique and exciting experience to Scottish tourism. Craig is two-time winner of a Visit Scotland Thistle Award as well as being “Falkirk’s Young Entrepreneur”. The businesses won the joint “Best Leisure / Retail Business” award at The Falkirk Herald’s recent business awards.

Both businesses also operate successful mobile events at venues across the Central Belt, working with clients such as SEC Hydro, Blair Drummond Safari Park and The Falkirk Wheel.

How Business Gateway has helped

After working closely with Business Gateway, Transcend Escape Rooms has secured partnerships with major strategic players in the tourism market, including leisure giant Merlin Entertainments. This high-profile partnership with the second largest entertainment company in the world will see Transcend Escape Rooms launch a brand-new experience at The Edinburgh Dungeons in 2020, following a Burke & Hare escape room experience featuring at The Dungeons in December 2019.

Craig MacDonald, founder of Transcend Escape Rooms and Wee Heroes Laser Tag, commented: “Being a part of the Business Gateway Growth programme has allowed my team and I to access a wide range of business support and advice.”

“The strategy and marketing assistance along with DigitalBoost services have been very useful in promoting the business. It has allowed us to look at the bigger picture, and really plan ahead.”
