Lisa Scott

Business Gateway Support Coordinator

Lisa joined the Business Gateway team in 2017 as a support coordinator. Graduating from the University of Stirling with a degree in Heritage and Conservation Management, Lisa has a background in marketing assistant, events and other supporting roles.

Lisa is from Balfron in rural Stirling so enjoys getting out and about to support rural businesses with our Rural Advisor Sandy. In her spare time, Lisa enjoys Hillwalking and spending time with her dog, Windsor.  


Louise Evison

Business Growth Manager

Louise graduated from The University of Stirling with a degree in Human Resource Management. Working as a Project Manager with the Business Partnership for 10 years, she was involved in shaping the strategic direction of the company and was responsible for budget management, identifying new business opportunities, tender writing and winning new business. Working with a range of clients and stakeholders her passion for developing and supporting businesses grew.

Following this, Louise joined the Business Gateway team in West Lothian Business Gateway as a Growth Adviser. Louise was responsible for a portfolio of diverse clients throughout the area supporting growth plans and assisting with access to funding. Specialising in advising on all areas of Growth including Strategy, HR and Leadership, Marketing, Business Development, Procurement and Financial Management, Louise joined Business Gateway Stirling in 2016. She now heads up the team in Stirling while continuing to work with existing businesses to reach their growth potential.

Lynn Dickson

Funding & Growth Business Adviser

Lynn graduated from Dundee with a Diploma in Business Studies and has put this to good use over the years in various business development and funding roles.  It was her time within HSBC Business Banking which fuelled her interest in helping businesses to access various types of funding to help the business grow.

Lynn joined the Business Gateway team as a Business Adviser for Funding and Growth in 2016.  As an experienced adviser with substantial experience in banking and business development she prides herself on using her communication and knowledge to develop excellent commercial awareness and form lasting relationships with her clients, business partners and colleagues. She is enthusiastic and passionate about driving businesses to be successful whilst providing an exceptional client experience.  

With over 20 years’ experience in supporting and advising businesses, Lynn is a specialist in funding to help businesses plan and achieve their growth ambitions.  She has previously had her own successful business, worked within SME’s, commercial and corporate organisations.

Frank Dunne

Start Up Business Advisor

Frank originally from Ireland, has made Stirling his home since he graduated from the University of Stirling with a degree in Entrepreneurial Studies. Since then he has worked in the Construction Industry, holding a Director post for several years.

Frank has been a Business Advisor at Business Gateway Stirling for twenty-two years and therefore knows what it takes to start a business and make it grow. If you are just starting out and plan on attending one of our start up workshops, Frank will be your trainer, meaning you’re in good hands.

Sandy Slater

Rural Business Adviser

Sandy originally comes from Fort William and has spent almost all his career working with rural businesses and community organisations from the West Coast islands, Lochaber, Argyll and Stirling. 

He has a Master of Business Administration (MBA) is a Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute (FCMI), a Fellow of the School for Social Entrepreneurs and with 26 years Business Advisor experience has a Scottish Enterprise Premier Advisor award. 

Sandy’s role is to help rural Stirlingshire businesses access the full range of Business Gateway support services. This involves a significant part of the working week meeting rural businesses on their home territory. The advice covers start-ups, growing businesses and individual business issues, tailored to the circumstances of rural business life, which include slow broadband, poor or non-existent mobile phone reception; distance from markets and poor public transport links. 

Having been the owner and manager of several businesses over the years Sandy understands that starting and running a business is sometimes challenging and enjoys helping people solve their business issues when they arise. Where possible he can help with making the case for support for the Stirlingshire rural economy which has 47% of the businesses in the county and 41% of the employees. 
In his evenings and weekends Sandy likes to get out and about in the Stirling area and enjoys mountain biking and wandering in the mountains with his dog, Poppy.

Jason Clark

Start Up and Early Growth Business Advisor

Jason is a member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing and has a Premier Advisor Qualification. With over 15 years’ experience in the Scottish Tourism Industry he works with various tourism businesses from food and drink shops and cafes through to international youth brands and accommodation providers. 

Jason has direct experience of running tourism businesses and of using a wide range of marketing strategies in the local Stirling area.
