Winning Public Contracts
Through our Business Gateway Advisers, our colleagues at Enterprise Europe Network, and our Business Growth Programme Adviser who specialises in Public Contracts, we can help you with all aspects of bidding for public contacts - from becoming business ready, to establishing a profile on the advertising portal, to in-depth advice on the tender process.
Becoming ‘tender ready’
Your local Business Gateway adviser can help you ensure that you are 'business ready' to respond to public contract opportunities.
Businesses need various policies and procedures in place in order to be eligible for winning a contract. This includes a robust business plan, insurances, and continuity planning. Our advisers can help you with all of this, and go through a checklist of required documents.
Accessing contracts across Europe
Once you are ready, your adviser can put you in contact with our Enterprise Europe Network colleagues who can provide specialist advice and one-to-support to help your business sell to the public sector not just in Britain, but across Europe.
They can improve your access to, and likelihood of winning, public contracts by:
- helping you find public contracts
- providing information on public procurement procedures, timescales and thresholds across Europe
- assisting you to conduct background research on suppliers and previous contracts
- helping you develop a strong and thorough profile on the Public Contracts Scotland portal
- setting up alerts for contracts relevant to you.
As part of our Local Growth Accelerator Programme we have a menu of additional business Growth support.
Our specialist Business Advisers can work closely with you to help you with marketing, protecting intellectual property, supply chain logistics and capacity in looking at traditional and alternative sources of finance.
Business Gateway is delivering this project with The Highland Council, and part-financed through the European Regional Development Fund.
Public Contracts Events
Business Gateway runs regular events on public contracts in conjunction with other business support services and organisations including Enterprise Europe Network, The Highland Council, Moray Council and the Supplier Development Programme.
The popular 'Meet the Buyer' events, for example, give local businesses the chance to meet public sector organisations that are looking for goods and services.
